Kamille Lévêque Jégo is an artist photographer who breaks the pictures and the media types down to exploit their systemic characteristics. She gets her inspiration from documentary as well as from seductive mechanisms of advertising.

By relying on a popular image culture, she extracts symbolism and stereotypes that she diverts into precise compositions, while pretending to be spontaneous. Her work is the result of documentary research, meticulous scenography and a hybridization of graphic arts. She composes a sensational photography from ordinary moments to produce in a first time an emotional effect on the viewer. Then, in a second step, her work brings, not without irony, a retrospect on our automatisms of interpretation and on our ideological preconceptions.

Kamille Lévêque Jégo's work draws its inspiration from the malleability of the digital image and the relativity of photographic testimony.
Instead of taking fiction as entertainment, she uses it as a revelation of our cultural formatting and as a way to question societal issues.

Kamille Lévêque Jégo is a graduate of ISDAT. She furthered her photographic research at the Bauhaus University (Germany).
Her long-term project Benzine Cyprine was exhibited during the opening of the 50th Arles’s international meeting of photography in 2019. She is the 2018 laureate of the Manifesto festival (Toulouse).
